The spring season is upon us. As we welcome warmer weather, longer days and of course, home buying season, we never forget the communities we serve. For decades Colonial has provided grants, community service and other services to help those who are less fortunate. Below we have some highlights of what we’ve been up to in the community this spring.
Women’s Center of Tarrant County Donation
The Colonial Savings Foundation recently provided a generous donation in support of the Women’s Center of Tarrant County. The donation will provide assistance to the center’s Employment Solutions program which works to provide holistic support to help women and men achieve their career and financial goals through integrated coaching services.

Colonial Celebrates 25 Years with Meals on Wheels
Colonial celebrated an exciting milestone of 25 years of support for Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County! Meals on Wheels recently honored Colonial’s 25 years of service by donating a commemorative brick in the entry way to their Tarrant County headquarters in Haltom City, Texas.
Meals on Wheels Mission Statement is: “To promote the dignity and independence of older adults, persons with disabilities, and other homebound persons by delivering nutritious meals and providing or coordinating needed services.”
Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County is a nonprofit charitable organization that started in 1973. They now provide approximately 1 million meals each year to citizens in need.

Hendrick Scholarship Foundation Donation
Colonial proudly supports the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation (HSF) of Plano, Texas. HSF’s mission is to provide Plano Independent School District students and graduates aged 14 -19 who have overcome adversity with scholarships and support services to promote success in life by providing coaching/mentoring, educational planning, career guidance, referrals to community resources to assist with meeting basic living needs, life skills and personal development workshops.
Founded in 1991 by a group of community businessmen and leaders, HSF has awarded more than $1 million dollars in scholarships to more than 300 students.

Junior Achievement Donation
On Tuesday, April 16, the Colonial Savings Foundation presented a generous donation of $4,000 to support Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail’s (JA) financial literacy development programs. Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Samaritan House Donation
On Wednesday, April 24, Colonial presented Samaritan House of Fort Worth with a donation to support their continued efforts to create a supportive community by providing housing and resources for positive change in the lives of persons living with HIV/AIDS and other special needs.
Colonial will also be serving as a sponsor to Samaritan House’s Joe’s Run, an annual 5k/10k with all proceeds benefitting their worthwhile cause.

YGC36 Donation
Colonial supports the YGC36 Youth Development Program with funding specifically provided for the expanded educational opportunities of the scholar athletes served by the organization. Beyond building its tutoring platform, the YGC36 program provides encouragement by serving as a key resource for these students to gain needed exposure to college scouting offices through competition at higher level venues.

Tarrant County Food Bank Sponsorship
Colonial is excited to serve as a VIP Table Sponsor for the 17th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon. The Empty Bowls Luncheon is an annual event that benefits Tarrant Area Food Bank’s (TAFB) work to fight hunger in the community. TAFB is the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties.
Easterseals North Texas – Hats off to Mothers Sponsorship
Colonial is proud to serve as the “Boater” hat sponsor for the Easterseals North Texas’ Seventh Annual Hats Off to Mothers Luncheon. Hats Off to Mothers honors Fort Worth women who have made significant contributions to their families and the Fort Worth Community.
Easterseals North Texas is a nonprofit organization that has provided services for individuals with disabilities and their families since 1939. Each year they assist more than 5,000 individuals of all abilities.
