Colonial Launches Inaugural Employee Volunteer Challenge

Colonial is very excited to announce the launch of our inaugural Employee Volunteer Challenge. From October 1 – December 31, Colonial employees will be engaging in a friendly competition to get out in their communities and give back through volunteer efforts.

The theme of the inaugural Employee Volunteer Challenge is, “One Colonial One Community,” and was picked by Colonial’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Steering Committee, which is made up of members from various departments across the company. The theme was chosen to reflect Colonial’s ongoing efforts to support our local communities through volunteer work, donations and other means of support.

The winning department or branch will be determined by the average hours volunteered per person over the time frame. Along with bragging rights, the winning team will be awarded $1,000 to donate to a charity or organization of their choice, and will also receive “The Jimmy Award for Excellence,” named after Colonial’s beloved founder and visionary, Jimmy DuBose.

Colonial has long been a leader in the communities we serve. We believe in the American dream of homeownership and we help realize that dream through home loan financing. We support individuals and small businesses’ financial goals through our personal and business banking products, and we help our customers protect their homes and property with our insurance divisions.

Since we were founded in 1952, Colonial and our employees have donated thousands of volunteer hours and millions of dollars to support non-profit organizations in our community. Our newly launched Employee Volunteer Challenge will look to continue those efforts through volunteering, teambuilding and togetherness.
