Colonial is excited to announce our Fifth Annual Holiday for the Troops donation drive is officially underway! What has quickly become one of our favorite traditions, Colonial employees are again donating holiday cards, snacks, games, books, movies, well wishes and other items to be sent to soldiers stationed across the country and around the world.
We know how difficult the holidays can be for our Military personnel and their families, so we felt that by sending our well-wishes and treats, we could give them a little piece of home during the holiday season.
Colonial will be delivering care packages to the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth before Christmas as well as shipping a number of care packages to family members of Colonial employees serving abroad.
Patience Castillo of Colonial’s Construction Operations Department will be spending her first holiday season away from her son, PFC Daniel Ramon Castillo III, as he is currently serving in South Korea as an Apache Helicopter Mechanic with the U.S. Army.
“The soldiers struggle being away from their families during the holidays,” said Castillo. “Our support they receive from back home helps them get through the holidays and focus on serving the country. These troops are a family unit; they help each other through good days and bad. We are very appreciative for all of the support Colonial provides.”
Check back in the coming months as we provide updates about this year’s Holiday for the Troops donation drive.
