The month of June saw a lot of excitement for all of us at Colonial. Summer "officially" began, we had some really fun company-wide celebrations, attended some worthwhile events, gave back to our local communities and more. Below we have some of the community highlights for the month of June.
Joe's Run Supporting Samaritan House of Fort Worth
Colonial employees enjoyed some fun in the sun at the annual Joe's Run 5k and 10k race at the beautiful Magnolia on the Green in Fort Worth. Colonial has served as a sponsor of Joe's Run for a number of years, which benefits Samaritan House of Fort Worth, whose mission is to "create a supportive community, providing housing and resources for positive change in the lives of persons living with HIV/AIDS and other special needs."
Later in June, the Colonial Savings Foundation was happy to present a donation to Samaritan House to support their wonderful organization.

The scholarship recognizes existing industry professionals from diverse backgrounds who are seeking to advance their careers through continuing education. We love our employees and couldn't be more proud of these two. Way to go!
Community Storehouse Donation
Colonial Savings' Nancy Brannan, Banking Center Manager, presented a donation to Lisa Wust to support the Community Storehouse - Quest Summer Reading and Lunch program in Fort Worth.
The Quest – Summer Enrichment Program is geared towards identifying a student's academic needs and providing an environment to help children connect what they are learning in the classroom with the world around them. Community Storehouse is dedicated to the education and wellbeing of low-income children in the community.
Supporting the 15th Annual Fort Worth Housing Summit
Colonial was excited to support the city of Fort Worth's 15th annual Housing Summit.
Workshops included "Home Buying 101: Ready to Buy in Today's Real Estate Market," "Obtaining a Mortgage Loan" and "Down Payment Assistance and Homeownership Counseling." The 15th Annual Housing Summit was sponsored by the City of Fort Worth, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Fort Worth Housing Solutions.
As part of Colonial's ongoing Diversity Month Celebrations, we celebrated June as LGBT Pride Month. June was chosen as Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots that occurred at the end of June 1969.On Friday, June 22, employees wore rainbow colors in support of the LGBT community.
It was a great month of June for us at Colonial. We are fortunate to be able to give back to communities we serve. If you missed our May recap, click the link and be sure to check back for more of Colonial's activities in the months to come.
