James McGee, Sr. Compliance Analyst, volunteered as a guest speaker at the Western Hills Elementary Career Day in Fort Worth on Friday, May 20. McGee spent the day visiting nearly a dozen second and third-grade classes to speak to students about the importance of doing well in school, and the many possibilities available in the world of banking and finance.
McGee has four children, Jazlon (14), Jaydah (11), Justice (5) and Jones (10 months). Growing up, McGee remembers professionals speaking to his class during Career Day events, and the impact it had on him as a boy. "Career Day was very important for me growing up and has inspired me to challenge myself, reach for the stars in life and to never settle for less," McGee said.
McGee hopes that the children he speaks to retain the helpful information that he shares and remember his story that led him to career success. He also hopes that parents, teachers and other volunteers will be inspired to educate their children on the wealth of career opportunities that will be available to them in the future.
